Telemedicine

At XCancer®, we understand that flexibility and convenience are essential in healthcare. That’s why we offer Telemedicine appointments, allowing patients to receive expert care from the comfort of their own home. Once your telemedicine visit is scheduled, our team will provide instructions on how to connect. At your appointment time, Dr. Luke or a Nurse Practitioner will contact you to conduct your consultation.

Telemedicine Eligibility & Important Considerations

Not all appointments are suitable for telemedicine visits. In some cases, an in-person visit may be necessary, especially if:

  • You are acutely ill

  • You are currently undergoing treatment

  • You need to review imaging scans or require a physical examination

When Telemedicine May Be a Good Option:

  • You are feeling well and have no new medical concerns

  • You need a routine follow-up or consultation

  • You live far from our clinic and want to reduce travel time

A member of our healthcare team will notify you in advance if your appointment qualifies for telemedicine. However, you will always have the option to request an in-person visit if you prefer.

Telemedicine is NOT for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 immediately.

Who is a Candidate for a Telemedicine Visit?

Not all patient visits will be a candidate for a telemedicine visit. If for example, you are acutely ill, on treatment, or have imaging scans to review that may require an in-person visit.

Telemedicine visits are ideal for patients who are not sick, have no new issues, and/or if you have to travel a distance to our clinic. One of our healthcare team members will notify you ahead of time if you are a candidate for a telemedicine visit.

Since the COVID outbreak approximately 10-20% of our patient visits have been conducted by telemedicine appointments.

You will always have the option to refuse a telemedicine visit if you prefer to see us in person.

Contact our office by calling 402-991-8468 for questions or if you need to schedule or reschedule your Telemedicine appointment.

Attention:
Telemedicine appointments are NOT for emergency purposes. If you have a medical emergency, please call 911.
